Campus Tours
If you are interested in scheduling a tour, please fill out our Inquiry Form and let us know of your interest. If you have already inquired or have applied to our school, please email us at admissions@sbs.org to schedule your tour. We look forward to welcoming you on campus!
Open Houses
Open Houses provide a comprehensive introduction to The Stony Brook School. We offer chances to speak with our Head of School, Admissions representatives, administrators and faculty. These events also include campus tours and a look at our on-campus dormitories. We also plan to offer a Virtual Open Houses series in late October through Early December should you be unable to attend in person.
Please note that registration is required and limited to one adult and one child per family. We will not be able to accommodate walk ins at this time.
Getting To Campus
By Car

By Train
The Long Island Rail Road’s Stony Brook Station is across the street from our campus and is served by the Port Jefferson Line. Trains travel daily to and from Penn Station in Manhattan.
By Ferry
Two year-round car ferries offer round-trip service to Connecticut. The closest option to campus operates between Port Jefferson, which is four miles east of the School, and Bridgeport, Connecticut. The other ferry travels between Orient Point, on the east end of Long Island, and New London, Connecticut. Reservations are suggested for both.
By Air
Two major airports – JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport – are located within 40 miles of our campus. The Long Island MacArthur Airport, which is just a 15 minute drive away, is another option for domestic travel via Southwest Airlines or US Airways.

Cost one-way is about $75-110. You can arrange for a private car or the share-a-ride van. This is a good service, but it may take longer to return to Stony Brook if the van is dropping off other passengers. Classic Limo can also be contacted through the airport's Ground Transportation Desk.
