At The Stony Brook School, we believe that academics and athletics are co-curricular, meaning one does not supersede the other. We challenge our student-athletes to learn in the classroom and compete on the athletic fields to their best of their ability, believing that in doing so they will be the recipients of a robust, holistic education.
On the field, court, track, and course our athletes learn about sacrifice, perseverance, courage, and responsibility in a way they may not anywhere else. At Stony Brook, athletics is a vehicle of growth where the end goal is not merely victory, but the development of a strong character and the stewardship of their God-given talents.
We are a member school of the prestigious New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). Our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete on over twenty interscholastic teams that strive to compete at the highest level of skill and sportsmanship.
