    My SBS Story:

"I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to come into The Stony Brook School community. I have been challenged academically with great teachers who are interested in their students. Another aspect that I love about the school is that I am given the space and encouragement to find myself, as well as to shape myself. I have made many amazing friendships that I feel are stronger than many of my previous friendships. I have also made great friendships with many of my teachers, which is something I never had before. My SBS Story:

"My mom announced to me a month before my 8th grade school year ended in Saudi Arabia, that I would be attending The Stony Brook School for 9th grade. I was shocked, but I decided to take heed of my parents' words and look at it as an adventure. And an adventure it has been! From the the start I felt like Dorothy ariving in The Emerald City, and at times I wanted to click my heels together and be transported back home. But even though I had a rough start, I now realize this place has given me not just a place to learn but to grow up, become independent, and strive for the next raised bar. I have learned to adapt to the SBS community and am wholeheartedly grateful for the opportunities, the struggles, the memories, the friends, the fun, and the chance to be here."

    My SBS Story:

"Socially, SBS has a very strong sense of community. Because of its small size, everyone knows each other and forms close relationships. I myself really enjoy making friends with some of the faculty, which doesn't happen a lot in my country (China). Academically, its various courses satisfy students of all levels. The teachers here are really dedicated to the students and always try to push the students up to a higher level. The school has changed me significantly, in that now I am more independent and know how to make plans for myself."

    My SBS Story:

"Coming to Stony Brook was a whole new experience for me. I had never been to a boarding school before or gone away overseas by myself (same goes for my sister Lily as well). I still remember when I was at ISP and my host family was the Winstons. They were so warm and welcoming, it felt like home! I think I will never forget my time here. People here are also friendly and they helped me out a lot. The dorm I live in (Barnhouse) is a place where all the dorm moms encourage me and help me whenever I need them. So far I've learned a lot, not just academically but also physically, mentally, and spiritually. I also have a closer relationship with God."
